Is this just backup?
No. The value is in procedures written for a third party, restores actually performed and gap tracking.
Is 24/7 intervention included?
Not by default. What is promised is what can be kept; on-call coverage is contracted separately.
Doesn’t Microsoft already back up our data?
It keeps a thirty to ninety day recycle bin, in the same service, reachable by the same administrators. That is not an independent backup.
